Anna Faris, aka Christy Plunkett of CBS’s ‘Mom’, has decided to take a step back and part ways from the show after 7 good years.
The same was announced by Faris and Warner Bros. Television on their social media pages by releasing statements confirming this news.
“The past seven years on ‘Mom’ have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career. I’m so thankful to Chuck (producer), the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family,” stated Anna Faris.
She is moving on from ‘Mom’ to pursue new opportunities in her career.
Reacting to the news, Chuck Lorre Productions said, “We wish Anna all the best, and we thank her for her beautiful portrayal.”
“From the inception of ‘Mom,’ Anna was the first and only choice for the role of Christy. We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna’s seven years with us,” an official statement from Warner Bros. TV.
Faris played the role of a recovering alcoholic who struggles hard to overcome her financial crisis and a lot of personal issues. Allison Janney essays the role of her mother on the show and together their chemistry is well-loved by the audience and is USP of the series.
Mom fans are heartbroken by Anna leaving ‘Mom’ and are expressing their grief online.
Anna was the center of the show against whom the show revolved. Now it’s going to be sad yet interesting to watch how the story unfolds onscreen.
Apart from her television and film projects, Anna also hosts a popular podcast ‘Unqualified.’
